If you live with or intend to live with your partner, a cohabitation Agreement can regulate and document your financial arrangements on a day to day basis and in the event of your separation. Although such a written agreement is not necessarily binding, on the basis that both parties have had independent legal advice, it is likely that the court will uphold the contents of the Document and it is safer to have such a document than not.
If children are born to the relationship and the Agreement does not financially provide for them, it is unlikely that the court will abide by the terms.
