If your partner has inappropriately exercised physical, emotional, sexual or financial control, we can provide immediate advice about obtaining a court Order to prevent contact or remove that person from your home.
If you live together, the court can evict your abusive partner from your home. Whether you live together or not, the court can provide protection to prevent your abusive partner from threatening violence, using violence, intimidating, harassing or pestering you. In both cases, the court can award a power of arrest which means that if your partner does not abide by the terms of the court protection, they can be arrested by the police. They could receive a prison sentence if this happens.
Please see the ‘Links’ section of this website for supporting or useful contacts if this applies to you.
We will deal with your case as a priority.
