Elderly Client Care

ELDERLY PERSON CARE WORK AND POWERS OF ATTORNEY

As more and more of us live longer, although not necessarily remaining fit throughout our later years, the management of our affairs becomes more important.

As a Firm we have many years experience in dealing with the problems that are likely to arise, whether from the point of view of an elderly client looking after their own affairs or from that of their family and friends giving assistance.

We will be happy to explain the effect and scope of an existing Enduring Power of Attorney and the procedure for registration of that with the Court of Protection if that should unfortunately become necessary.

We will also be happy to go through the procedure for Lasting Powers of Attorney which came into force on 1st October 2007 and which can now deal with both financial and health care matters.

We can also explain the procedure for, and the effect of, an application to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a Receiver for the affairs of a person who is no longer able to deal with matters themselves but who, for whatever reason, has failed to make either an Enduring Power of Attorney or a Lasting Power of Attorney.
